A share of 5 million euros in the emergency fund for businesses and cultural institutions, established with the Relaunch decree, is intended to support editorial translators ”.
This was stated by the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, signing the decree aimed at compensating for the negative economic impact on this category of workers, recipients of income deriving from copyright, resulting from the adoption of measures to contain the pandemic.
Individuals belonging to the category of editorial translators, adults, resident in Italy and income earners subject to taxation in Italy who meet the following requirements can apply for a contribution:
a) Total gross income not exceeding € 28,000 referring to the year 2019;
b) Income deriving from copyright equal to at least 20% of the total income in 2019 and in any case not less than 1,000 euros referring to the year 2019.
Beneficiaries are granted a maximum contribution equal to 25% of the income received in 2019 and in any case not exceeding 3,000 euros. Within five days from the date of registration of the decree by the supervisory bodies, the Directorate General for Libraries and Copyright will publish a specific notice with the methods and terms for submitting applications for access to the benefit, as well as for documentary checks and the assignment of contributions.
