Senate and Chamber elected the members of the Communications Authority and the Privacy Guarantor. As for Agcom, Laura Aria and Elisa Giomi (Senate), Antonello Giacomelli and Enrico Mandelli (Chamber) were elected. Laura Aria received 123 votes; Elisa Giomi 110 votes; Giacomelli got 211 preferences, Mandelli 202.
As regards the Guarantor for the processing of personal data, the Senate elected Agostino Ghiglia and Pasquale Stanzione, the Chamber elected Ginevra Cerrina Feroni and Guido Scorza. The votes for Scorza were 237; those for Cerrina Feroni 209; Ghiglia received 123 votes; Stanzione 121. 523 deputies spoke to the Chamber. There were 272 voting senators.
The College of the Privacy Guarantor will now have to meet to elect the president; in the event of a tie, the assignment will go to the most senior director. At Agcom, the president is appointed by decree of the President of the Republic, on the proposal of the president of the Council of Ministers, in agreement with the Mise and subject to the favorable opinion of the competent parliamentary committees.
The new heads of the two Authorities will remain in office for the next 7 years.
